How PathSync handles your data.

We treat your GPS history as personal, sensitive data. This page explains what we collect, how we store it, and how you stay in control.

1. What we collect

When you connect your Garmin account, PathSync receives:

  • Basic account identifiers required for sync (e.g. a Garmin user ID)
  • Activity metadata (date, distance, duration, sport type, etc.)
  • Activity track data (GPS points, elevation where available)

2. How we use your data

We use your data only to:

  • Display your activities and routes on PathSync maps
  • Generate shareable public links chosen by you
  • Provide aggregate analytics inside your account (e.g. total distance)

We do not sell or rent your GPS data to third parties.

3. How we store your data

Activity data is stored in our databases in a secure environment. Access is restricted to systems and team members that require it to operate the service.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, unless you explicitly request deletion or disconnect your Garmin account and ask us to remove synchronized data.

4. Share links & visibility

When you create a share link, a public URL is generated that displays the route and basic activity details to anyone who has the link. It does not grant access to your entire account.

You can revoke individual share links at any time from your PathSync dashboard.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access a copy of your data
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Limit certain types of processing

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@pathsync.app.

6. Changes

We may update this page as PathSync evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll notify you inside the app or by email.
